What Is McDonald’s Supersize? Is It Still A Thing?

McDonald’s Supersize

McDonald’s Supersize was a menu option that offered customers the choice to upgrade their soft drinks and French fries to a larger size for an additional charge. The Supersize option was first introduced in the late 1990s as part of McDonald’s efforts to offer larger portions to its customers. It quickly gained popularity due to its appeal to those looking for a more substantial meal.

However, the Supersize option faced criticism and concerns over its contribution to unhealthy eating habits and the obesity epidemic. In response to growing public health concerns and changing consumer preferences, McDonald’s decided to phase out the Supersize option.

In 2004, McDonald’s announced that it would no longer offer Supersize options in the United States. The decision was part of the company’s global efforts to promote healthier menu choices and offer a greater variety of portion sizes.

As of my last knowledge update in September 2021, the Supersize option had been discontinued in most, if not all, McDonald’s locations worldwide. Instead, McDonald’s offers various portion sizes, allowing customers to choose from different options that suit their preferences and dietary needs.

However, please note that things may have changed since my last update, and it’s always best to check with your local McDonald’s or visit their official website for the most up-to-date information on their menu offerings.
